Canned tuna?

Does anyone know if canned tuna is ok to eat??

Hey I read the other posts and I suggest you read some information for yourself since there are conflicting views.  As I've known, Mercury levels are actually higher in leaner tuna so you should avoid light tuna. Additionally, tuna from a restaurant tends to be worse because it usually comes from a larger fish (which albacore isn't too big) which has higher amounts of mercury due to biomagnification (sorry science major alert! ) Yellow fin is considered the best type (lowest mercury) although almost all types of tuna are currently testing above FDA guidelines. You are also safer getting pole line caught (I'd suggest wild planet I think it rocks). Anyway, most doctors still say no tuna at all but definitely check with your doc. Didn't mean to go on and on and definitely look up some more info on your own. I love tuna and I'm suffering not eating it but mercury can cause big problems for you and your baby. :-)

My doc said no more than one can a week, that's what is recommended anyway. I love tuna, along with just about every other kind of seafood, so this will be interesting lol. They just worry about mercury levels.

I just went to the Dr today and they said specifically don't eat tuna

My doc said it was fine. I love to eat tuna wraps it isn't a fish that is packed fu of mercury. Look up fish with Mercury and it will give you a list break down. Hope that helps. If your worried once in a while will be more than okay!
