Insults???

My boyfriend called me ugly and nasty when we were fighting, he says he didn't mean it but I just feel really self conscious now. He's also called me big.. I have gained some weight since we first started dating, and I do look different. I just didn't think he would ever say something like that..
What should I do?

I would get a better guy. The fact that you were fighting shouldn't matter. He should never say things like that to you.

My brother has been on again/off again dating thus skanky psychotic mess of a female who says things like:

"I'm not trying to be mean, I just know I can do better than you..."

"You're a lazy, idiot loser and you're not going anywhere in life."

"I'm going to fuck all your friends!"

Like completely off the wall.. She just spits nasty words at him and then comes running back saying, "omg I didn't mean it, I love you. I need you. Nobody understands me like you do. I need you to help me be a better person."

People who talk like that to someone they allegedly care for, are complete wackos! You need to run. It's verbal and emotional abuse and it won't get better. It usually gets worse.

I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years, we've definitely been in some heated arguments and we've both said things we shouldn't have, but never has he ever called me ugly or big, and I'm quite a bit bigger than when we first started dating (thanks to babies) and he's very fit. That's not appropriate to say. There's a line between angry words and words that should never be said.

None of his comments have any merit and are not a reflection on you but his own character and his own issues. There's a book I recommend called The Respect Me Rules. Even if you decide to leave him, it's a great book to read that helps build coping skills against bully tactics. Better days ahead!
