Gestational diabetes...??

Question

I'm in my 29th week and I just found out I have gestational diabetes. I never had this issue with my previous pregnancies and I don't know what to expect. I'm feeling super overwhelmed and defeated. Anyone gone through this before? How does it affect the baby? How will it affect me? I have an appointment a high risk doctor in a few days and I'm kind of freaking out. Ahh. Any info would help! Thanks!

The baby can be a little bigger than normal and if you can regulate your sugars well they will have less likely chance of being hypoglycemic at birth. You have to think that the baby is getting extra sugar now but as birth is cut off from his source. Good management on your part is key to a healthy rest of your pregnancy and a healthy child down the road. You can do it :)
