Do dogs know?

No.i think when people are trying to conceive,they read into things too much.Good luck.

My vet said that dogs do know. It's the hormones that we put out. My dog who is my husband's best friend has become very cuddly and protective of me. She will even lay next to me and put her head on my stomach. Our vet said they can also hear the baby. But if it's the first baby start ignoring the dog some or carrying around a baby doll wrapped in a blanket so they are prepared for the actual baby. We are having our first and our German Shepard has been our baby and we know she will not like being ignored, but we have started and she has stopped being so needy. Hopefully things go smoothly when we bring our little girl home 

I believe they can. Before I found out I was pregnant with my daughter my dog started coming to bed with me and would sleep with his head on my stomach. 

My two alpha dogs are following me around like crazy!!! I can't take three steps without then following me. The big one follows so close that I have to be careful not to fall over him. Ever have a 100 pound dog lean on you while you were walking?

My husky puppy has bee attached to me since I have been pregnant. He never specifically sought me to cuddle with him before now. Now he prefers me over my husband any day. 

I hope so. I have two boys (dogs) and we will be ttc from around late March :D Woyld be cute if they knew first 

I think it is very possible, however when I was pregnant my dog didn't change that I know of but my cat.... A few days before I lost my baby my cat started being more loving and was sleeping with which is odd for her. I do feel like she knew and that some how she knew is was going to need more love. When I found out the baby had died and I was going through the miscarriage she never left my side until it was a few days past the miscarriage. 

I think dogs can sense it for sure. My dog was acting the same way before I found out I was pregnant. 

Yes they do. My husbands dog stuck a friend like glue for a week. She then found out a week later at her scan, she had a miscarriage.

My partners dog has always loved me more, she's more protective over me when other dogs around which is cute, but otherwise she just goes real careful around me and doesn't jump into my arms anymore
