Taking 1 month old out?

My son is 5 weeks today & I feel like I need to get out of the house..problem is it's a bit chilly & I don't want him to get sick. How do you tell people no if they want to touch baby? I don't want to be mean but I also don't want baby to get sick!! Help please!!

I have a car seat canopy for her car seat. I also tuck her in with a blanket after she's buckled in!! I've been lucky no one has tried to touch her while we're out. I get lots of compliments on how beautiful she is and asked how old and how much she weighs. But so far people have kept their hands to themselves.

No one ever tries to touch my baby. If someone does toucan tell them to stop, he hadn't had any of his vaccinations yet. They'll understand.

If you have a baby carrier like a Moby or Ergo, etc. it's pretty easy. Having them against you will help keep baby warm and people tend to not touch babies when you're wearing them (or if they do, probably only their feet). If you want to take them out in a stroller, just put them in lots of layers. If you're driving somewhere, you don't want too many layers under the car seat restraint, otherwise it might not fit properly. Instead, try tucking a swaddle blanket around baby once he/she is secure, then another heavier blanket over that. You can also drape another blanket over the car seat or stroller to help keep the heat in. That will also prevent people from trying to touch your baby.

I've been lucky. Strangers don't really try to touch my lo when we go out (he's 9 weeks), but I think the bottom line is that you're the mom and you need to stand up for and protect your kid, even if some people may have their feelings hurt.

Put a blanket over the carrier or wear him in a wrap with a blanket over him and if they start to reach out back up
