Trisomy 13 and 18?

The blood work from my first trimester screening showed that my baby might be at risk for trisomy 13 and 18.

I'm freaking out.  I don't know what to do.  Have any of you ladies gone through this?

I'm so sorry to hear that... But please don't google and freak out... Your doctor said that your baby is at risk.. But nothing is definitive yet... So have faith and stay strong..,, I'll be praying for you & your baby's wellbeing... Please take care!

We had a poor nuchal translucency test that indicated a chromosomal abnormality. Ours did lead to a miscarriage due to Turners Syndrome but what I did learn is that those tests are not very accurate. They're for screening not for diagnosis. For that you may need amnio or cvv. They'll probably be able to see more with US. try not to jump to the worst conclusion until you know more.

This happened to me sometimes these tests are wrong mine was wrong baby had turners and didn't make it but trisomy is far worse than turners I had a one in four chance

hey iam 15 weeks today...yesterday i got a call from my doctor.she said they found some defect called trisomy 13 in screening. iam so broke its the worat pain i never had. and she referred us to amniocentesis for correct results as this test is not 100 percent correct. she says there will be some chances that this report moght be false positive. does anyone got positive in screening and negative in amniocentesis

My pregnancy was high risk for trisomy 13/18 and unfortunately it did end in a miscarriage. But that's not the case for everyone! Just stay positive and don't freak yourself out. ❤

You willneed a second set of screening tests when you have a risk of this on your first set of tests. Don't worry sometimes its negative, and just a risk not a diagnosis!!! Good luck
