Anyone have out of state in-laws?

What is your ideal plan for them with your birth? I don't think them being here a week before my due date is ideal, booking a flight same or next day isn't affordable around the 4th of July and I want them to understand that. I think buying tickets for the week after my due date is smart (don't think I'll make it to my due date so it gives us solo bonding time) not sure if this is going to fly well with them since it's their first grand. 😩

My in laws live in the states. After 4 months of them dead set on flying in for a month (before and after my due date) they have finally decided to wait until baby is a few months old.

This is my first baby, and I already could not imagine having to entertain company and give birth/welcome a newborn. Besides - I know I will be possessive. This is mine... I made it,so please don't touch it. Lol. Only my mom is planning to be in town for the birth.

We texted my inlaws when I went into labor and they drove...from Atlanta, GA to northern Wyoming. They got there the day after she was born. This time they are flying and not coming up till a week after baby is born. Thank goodness. Last time it was just too many people wanting to hold baby all at once. It was overwhelming.

My husband calls my in laws once I am checked into the hospital, and then they leave either right away, or once my FIL is done with work that day. With my DS1, they got to the hospital while I was still in labor because I ended up laboring over 36 hours with him, and with DS2, they came in the next morning.  This time we will probably ask that they do the same, as we don't take any visitors the day I deliver (not even my own family) so that both baby and I can get rest. If you've been in pre-labor for a few days and not sleeping well, then in labor for even 12-15 hours, you will need to rest. Not to mention, the first hours/days of labor aren't pretty. You're leaking fluids from everywhere, you may have diarrhea, and you're going to be hot, sweaty, and agitated. You don't want house guests hanging out trying to be social while you labor at home. The baby will be just as small 2 days after delivery and you will be more comfortable.

My MiL lives in FL andd i am due 7/25. I hope to convince her to book a flight like the firstt week of august.. And i am hoping that i go a week early. She drives me nuts, is bossy and opinionated and my stress level is rising justttt thinking about her. Regardless if i do not get my evil wish of having her arrive afterrrrr the baby is born, she will under no damn circumstance be in the delivery room. I have my mind set on it just be the hubby and i even though i loove my parents dearly. Theyll get the call when things progress so that they are in the waiting room when my husband stumbles out and says "its a ........." (Then probably faints on the floor😉)

My FIL lives 4 hrs away I want him here before I go in labor. I am closer to him than anyone else on either side of our families and I think knowing he is here for my 3-year-old will be a relief for me. But I don't want my SIL here at all ever last time she was here she pissed me off. And I have only met my MIL once she lives 16 hour drive away and we both live 3 hrs from the airport  she hasn't said anything about coming so I doubt she does. All my family lives here so they will be here for short visits. Which is all I could handle with them I really just want to relax and be in my Jammies and bond with my baby husband kids and FIL.

My sister and mother will be here probably the week the baby is due and for a week after. I don't think I'll be overwhelmed with them and if I do I can easily tell them to relax a little. My in laws will probably come the week after my mom and sister leave. It's their first grandchild so I want them to enjoy the baby too but once we are settled in at home. My husband is taking a month off from work so he can easily handle them too. In the delivery room it will only be my husband with me. That's it. It's our first baby and we made it together and will bring it into the world together. It's a special moment for us as a couple. Everyone else will have to understand your choices just try to be sensitive when you explain your reasons.

Yeah no one is coming for the birth I'm not going with an induction ever again and just bc of coordinating with when people get here is a no no my child will come when it's ready. They're not going to come the week of either bc I'm not going to cater to people to come to visit and not help out and my husband has a promotion ceremony the same next weeks so they can wait a month. Baby doesn't do anything for the first few weeks anyway or even look normal so everyone can wait ...

You guys said everything I was thinking. I love my in-laws and I'm not trying to be bitchy but even the sweetest people can be too helpful and overbearing. My MIL said something about a one way ticket our last conversation and it gave my indigestion. Lol. We've been trying years for this baby and I just want a peaceful relaxing birth and time for just us to bond with the baby we've waited so long for.

I'll probably go with a week after our due date, too. My parents are a half hour away and they already know I don't want them at the hospital until it's all over.  And I'm only opening my house for overnight to my mother in law and her husband. That's it. Sorry SIL but you stress me too much. And my dog hates your husband. Haha
