Scared- anyone do yoga?

I didn't know I couldn't do up dog anymore and today when I went to flow into t I gota sharp pain middle low abdomen. So scared I hurt the baby- anyone ever felt this before? It went away once I got out of the position but it was scary

Probably just a little tweak in the muscles since they're already being stretched. I think it's a good idea to keep stretching, even abdominal and back muscles throughout pregnancy, so you should be fine to keep doing yoga. Just move slowly into and out of each position.

My dr said I was ok to continue to do yoga but my yoga instructor actually cautioned me from doing any of the torso twists. She showed me some modifications or suggested that I just don't go into a full spine twist.

Probably ligament pain. When I do that pose, I do it VERY slow and if it starts to "pinch" I hold it there or ease out of the pose. Listen to your body and do what feels comfortable to you!

Hmm I do yoga regularly and my doctor told me to continue doing it (eventually with a big belly I will have to do some modifications) throughout my pregnancy. They said it would help me in labor. I haven't ever heard of not being able to do down dog. Hope you're feeling better!

I wonder if it was round ligament pain? Did it feel similar to that? It also may have been your body telling you to stop it. Maybe call your dr in the morning and just let them know this happened and to see if they seem concerned?
