Natural birth?

Anyone trying for a natural birth? What techniques or natural aids are you considering?

I am trying to avoid a repeat cesarean and have another vbac birth. So for the best odds I avoid getting an epidural😁 I'm going to be labor in gay home for as long as possible and using my bathtub/shower, doing meditation type relaxation, just allowing my body to do what it wants before I get to the hospital. Once there I am hoping they are going to allow me into the jetted tub for the transition labor.

Everyone thinks I won't make it without an epidural or some sort of drugs, but I'd really like to try to go natural. I think staying out of bed as long as possible and moving around by walking, getting into different positions, and using a birthing ball will help. My neighbor is certified in reflexology massages and has been doing them on me since September; massage/reflexology was mentioned in our birthing class so I'll probably give that a try too. Possibly using a TENS machine on my back (I loved using this when I had physical therapy for my arm!) is also part of the plan. My hospital also has a shower in every room and offers a whirlpool bath for labor even if you don't want to birth in it so that's also a possibility. FTM so I won't know for sure what will work until I get there though! lol

I'm trying for a home water birth. Very excited to be planning an intervention and medication free birth, and feeling everything. I highly suggest reading Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth if you haven't already!

I was told that hypnobabies was an amazing pain relieving technique. That's what me and my hubby plan on using. Unfortunately because of complications I can't have the water birth I wanted but still planning on having a medication free birth

We did the Bradley Method course for classes and are currently supplementing by reading the Hypnobirthing book to learn some of the deep relaxation techniques!
