Do you yell at your kids?

I mean I'm gonna try not to, but it's pretty much inevitable. At some point during their lives I'm sure I'll lose my temper. I do the same with my boyfriend. I try not to yell at him but occasionally it just happens. I feel terrible about it, but nobody is perfect

I think we all do at some point. What's important is how you handle it afterwards.

Parents screw up because humans screw up. Our kids are going to see us fail just as they will fail at some point. How they handle their failures will depend on how they see us handle ours.

Don't stress if you screw up and yell or scream at your kid. But DO sit them down after you have collected yourself and explain why you yelled. Apologize. Accept their forgiveness because they WILL forgive you. Then forgive yourself and move on.

There. You've just taught your child that no one is perfect. You have also taught them to apologize when they have wronged someone. You taught them how to forgive when someone has wronged them. And you've taught them to forgive themselves and not dwell on their mistakes but to learn from them.

Yelling at your kid and/or losing your cool might be one of the most important things you do as a parent as long as you handle it correctly afterward.

I voted yes. Nobody is perfect. I think it would be a lie to say that someone has never or will never yell at their children.

No, I don't yell or scream. I grew up in a home where there was a lot of yelling and I hated it. My goal as a teacher was to learn to communicate, correct behavior, and discipline without screaming. I use a stern voice and I make sure that I'm up close, down on his level, and making eye contact. It works wonders. When I get lazy and try to redirect/correct behavior or discipline from across the room, it's ineffective and frustrating.

Yes were not perfect . i yell when they misbehaved or not listening etc. Were not perfect . as mother we try not to but its very inveitble not because sometimes kids can have their days where we cant even talk or not yell.. I only yell when its nessesary.

I do. I never intend to, but sometimes it's the only way to get through to him or get his attention. Anyway, I usually apologize to him later and tell him I'm sorry I yelled and explain why I did so he doesn't think I'm crazy and spazzed on him for no reason lol. He's like me, and when he's doing something (anything) he focuses so much on it that he blocks everything else out around him. People have to yell at me to get my attention too lol.

Yes mostly when they are upstairs doing whatever the hell they do up there sounds like WWE wrestling match, I have three boys.... I yell so I dont have  to waddle my 8 month pregnant ass upstairs ( knock it off!!) but other than that I don't yell or scream at them in their face or anything like that I just use a sturn voice if they are in trouble and talk to them. We rarely yell in my house. Except if they are banging and crashing upstairs which is almost everyday.
