Mom & daughter pregnant at the same time. Awkward?

Mixed emotions. Not sure how to feel about this. Mypregnancy was planned, hers wasn't, newlyweds. Words of advice how to handle this feelings?

I was pregnant with my first while my stepmom was pregnant. Our kids were born 12 days apart. I was actually a little excited because our kiddos got to grow up together and are the best of friends now. They will be 5 in March.

Nothing you can really do about it? Your daughter is married (newlywed or not) so presumably, she is plenty old enough to be having kids. Tell her congrats and then go back to normal.

I'm adopted. When I met my birth mother and my sister we did some maths and figured out we were all pregnant at the same time. How nuts is that? I didn't even know I had a sister! Anyways my mother miscarried but my sister told me it was a bit awkward when they first found out. I'm happy I wasn't in the picture yet tho! Lol

From your daughters perspective... I am 21 and a newlywed as of september 25th. We got pregnant a month and a half after our wedding. This was a surprise baby for us so it was not planned but is very much wanted and we could not be much happier about it regardless. You really don't have much of a right to be 'disappointed' in her. She is married and now she's going to be a mother. As her mother, you should support her no matter what. Our families have both stepped in and are readying themselves to be grandparents sooner than they thought and they have been the most supportive. 
However, my sister has been unsupportive of us and VERY bitchy, rude, and an absolute nightmare because she wanted to be the first because she is 5 years older (and totally unprepared for kids) 
I don't want your relationship with your daughter to be ruined like my sister and I's. So at the very least I would be cautious of the things you say to her... because some things can never be taken back and no matter what that is your grandchild. None of this is meant to sound judgemental or like you are in the wrong. You're not and I do understand your frustration.

That being said.. 
My sister and I both had a similar situation with our mother, and sure it was a little awkward, but.. I feel like you shouldn't be upset! If you have a child old enough to have her own and is a newly wed why would it bother you?  Even if your pregnancy was planned! In any case I feel like I would be the one upset if my mother decided she would be upset if I (a newly wed) got pregnant instead of feeling upset about it think of all the wonderful experiences you both will be able to share!!!

You already had children before no need to make this a big deal!

Your daughter may be feeling the awkwardness, as well. Talk about it with her (preferably while shopping for maternity clothes 😉) and hopefully you can get past it and both enjoy this journey together.

Wow. ..I actually read this as you being the daughter and your mum was the newly wed! While not common I don't think your situation is that unusual and your daughter's life is hers to live regardless of your wishes.

My hubby and I (45 & 37) are 9w and my 20 yr old step daughter just had a baby 4 weeks ago. We had been planning for 2 years while hers was unplanned. As we live in Australia and she's in the US, she and I won't get to do the bonding over babies thing, however I do think her pregnancy and the birth of my husband's first grandchild made him question whether he really wants to 'start over' and it has made me feel a bit sad at times wondering if he really wants this (when 2 years ago be was the one excited to try). His youngest is 13 and mine is 12 so we really are starting over.

My former mother in law was pregnant with baby 6 of 7 total while her daughter (baby 2) was pregnant. They had a great time and we're able to bond and help each other out.

Now my best friend more  like sister got married a few years ago. She was 23 and her husband 22. His mom was so upset that her "baby" would up and leave her.  He had already been in the military and on his own for years.  When his mom found out they were trying for a baby she went and got pregnant first. It was a mess. 6 years later it's still a mess.
