Too Young For Makeup?

Girl Mom. 🎀 • Mama bear of two!
I'm a 2nd grade teacher and for the past three school days I've had one female student, who is only 7 years old, show up wearing makeup. She wears eye shadow, mascara, blush and lipstick. She tells everyone proudly that her mother puts it on her before school so that she'll "look pretty". Now understand that this little girl is 7 going on 16 and has the attitude to match. But is it just me, or is 7 WAY too young to be wearing real makeup to school? And second, don't you think her mother is giving her the wrong idea of "beautiful" by telling her that by wearing makeup, she'll look pretty? Call me crazy and maybe I might be over-reacting but I'm really having a hard time grasping this idea. For me, I'd never allow my 2nd grade daughter to go to school wearing makeup. Just looking for some other opinions here. What do you guys think?
** ADDED: After reading comments, I just want people to know that I am not ratting this girl's mother out nor am I trying to tell her how to raise her child OR judging her. I was merely just looking for a second opinion on this because I do not feel a 7 year old girl needs to wear makeup at school. At home for play or Halloween is fine. But does a child need it as part of their morning routine? Absolutely not. I don't think it's sexual. I think it's something for young women/women, which a 7 year old is not. Thank you.
