Question

When you wanna have sex with your boyfriend and when he wants to too do you just say "well first you have to go to the doctor and check for sti's and stuff".

How do you say it? Or do you just asking him if he has any? Or if he has gotten a check up?

I flat out told my now husband that before we did ANYTHING he had to get tested and show me the newly dated results...two days later he handed me test results...he didn't say anything when I told him it was mandatory or even when he was getting it done...if he respects you he will respect that simple request that is for the health and safety of you BOTH

I would say "Before we become sexually active I would like both of us to get tested" something along those lines. I had an ex say that to me once, didn't bother me one bit.

It's great that you aren't just going to make an assumption about his STI status.  You'll want to pick a good time to talk....when you're alone and have enough time so you're not rushed or interrupted or can be overheard. Just bring it up..."we've been talking about having sex and I think I'm ready but I just want us to be check ups so that we can just relax and enjoy ourselves". If he doesn't say anything, ask him what he thinks. If he refuses or can't talk about it, its likely he's not mature enough to be having sex. If he can't be be responsible with you, its likely he hasn't been responsible with anyone else he's had sex with. Just know you're doing the right thing by bringing this up and being prepared.

I was straight forward and to the point. Don't say it like he has something just say you would feel comfortable if he went to the doctor and got tested before you guys have sec and you hope he will respect that.
