Boyfriend Behind Bars ..?

Does anybody have a SO that's in jail ..? I'm asking because for the first time my boy will be going in for a couple months and it doesn't seem too long but I know it will feel long . What's your story ? How do you manage or feel ?

My husband been in prison (drugs)..That was all before we met .I always said I would never date someone that's served time...But here we are now best that ever happened to me and my kiddos ...He may not have the best record but that didn't stop him from getting a good career ! He's also a coach for High School girls soft ball team (made it to all-stars) and also trying to get  classes together thru the probation office to keep kids from going to jail and stay in school ! He stepped up and is amazing father to my girls and his son .My family love him 😊 so lady's not all men that been to prison or jail are" no good" or can't find a good Job ..or be a good role model J.S 🙋

Just remember that as hard as it is on you... It's probably a hundred times harder on him. Visit if you are able. Write letters. Put a little money on his books if you are able. Accept phone calls when you can. To put things into perspective... Yes, the future may be difficult due to his poor past choices. But everyone is capable of learning from their mistakes. What if you made a bad choice to text and drive and it resulted in car accident that left you injured for months and unable to work? What if your SO had to carry the ball and take care of you because of one split second bad decision? My point is, everyone makes mistakes and shame on everyone here for bashing you or your man. I'd venture to say that most people have broken the law in some way (i.e. Drinking under age or drunk driving) but just never got caught. It will be a short period of hardship. If you love him, stand by him. Use this time to show yourself and him how strong and loyal you are. And make sure he learns from his mistake. If he comes out on parole or probation, help him stick to it so this situation never happens again.  And don't let other judgmental people get you down... Stay as positive as you can.

I would never date a person that commits a crime bad enough to land them behind bars..  I don't care how microscopic it seems. That to me is someone with a lack of respect, responsibility and morals. Those qualities are important to me. Now it will be difficult for him to do a lot of things that require a background check including get a job.

If you decide to stay just know it will be very HARD on you and him. Visits, letters and phone time will help you through. Also try to stay busy on the outside; it will make time fly. You shouldn't put your life on hold because he is locked up. Make sure you take care of yourself and if the love is real it will make your relationship stronger.

Girl yes my boyfriend just came on on my bday September 28!! He was in there for 18 months it was the worst 18 months of my life it was so stressful !!!  When you so use to that person you know we had states together so He was the last person I seen before I closed my eyes & the first person i see when I wake up. But all in all the shir is stressful!!!

I could never date or be with someone who had a record. If the can't respect the law, then I don't have time for them.

Just don't date guys who go to jail lol seriously not just because they're "bad" I love bad boys myself, but because when one day they want to get a good job instead of making you pay for everything, they may not be able to because of those pesky background checks
