Met him through a Senior friend. He's cool. I'm kinda starting to have a thing for him. Is this a bad age difference to pursue?

I got with him when I was 14, got pregnant at 14 and got married 4 days after I turned 16. Just depends on how your parents are and if they would ok it or not. Mine didn't care.

I don't think it's a bad thing to pursue it as long as you guys don't have sex until you're 18 (or the age of consent in your state specifically). Seven years is not a big age difference anyways so you should just be mindful of the fact that even if you consent (but still underage) there is a risk for him getting charged with statutory rape.

You are underage so at this point depending on your state could be a legal issue. If you were 18 it wouldn't be a big age gap but at 16 you are still young and at 23 he is an adult...

A few guys I went to high school with dated younger girls and the girl's parents filed statutory rape charges and the guys went to jail. They are now married to the girls and have kids but that's still on their record.... I would check with your parents. Because even if you say it wasn't rape because of your age it's still statutory rape because it's sex with a minor and your parents can file charges without you. Just be careful.

I was 16 dating a 25 year old, mind you I was very mature for my age. We didn't work out and we split up just after I turned 18 but now I'm 19 and with the love of my life, a 36 year old! And we are expecting our first baby together ❤ .. I'm not trying to tell you it's the right choice because it depends with everyone. If you feel you are mature and capable of making the right and proper decisions for yourself and your relationship, I'd say give it a go 😊 if you're uncertain then try to keep it maybe as just friends for awhile until you gather a better understanding of what exactly it is you want! Also talk to your parents. My mom was very understanding and it also helped that the guy was a longtime friend of my older sister, so be prepared if your parents have never met the guy they may be against it. But definitely talk to them
