Skipping "sugar pills"???

I know that the orange pills is when I get my period, but I think I've heard them called "sugar pills" and that I can skip them because they have no point??? Is this true??This is a picture before I started. I am 3 and a half weeks into my first pack

You don't have to take them but it is helpful to take them so that you stay in the habit and start your next pack on time. You can also completely skip that week and keep taking active pills if you want to skip a period but this is not reccomended in the first 3 months.

They usually have iron in them to help with iron loss during your period so they are beneficial, also they keep your body used to taking a pill everyday at the right time to form a habit.

Been on bc for 5 yrs never taken the last week I just get my period and that Sunday after my period ends I start my new pack of pills. I've heard they have iron in them to help with bleeding.

You can but my mom told me not to because that is the week of your period and they are still suppose to serve a purpose. I would take them if I were you

Today my friend told me that if you skip sugar pills that after a few months you stop getting your period. She said its normal and the birth control is still as effective as ever. Anyone know of this is true or a myth??
