Baby diaper too big?

Help! My baby is almost 11 pounds so I moved her to size 1 diapers but she's been having explosions that seep out the backside and up her back. Is the diaper too big? How do I prevent this from happening again?

It's more likely the brand. I have explosions with my daughter in everything beside pampers and babyganics.

We're primarily cloth diapering, but occasionally use disposables. When my baby was around 11 or 12 pounds we moved him to size 2 disposables. They fit much better!

I have found with all size of my babies when poop goes up the back its time for the next size. You may be better off going up to size 2. I don't follow the weights listed because they always seem to be off.

I just realized there is a significant difference in absorbancy b/w huggies snugglers and huggies snug and dry. My son started having blowouts and was soiling EVERYTHING in huggies snugglers. I didn't even realize they were different! If the sizing is fine, I would test a new brand and even w/i the brand make sure you have the best line that works for your LO.

Double check the sizing. That typically happens when they are too small. You may also need to try different brands.

Size 1 diapers go up to about 11 lbs. Size 2 start at 12 lbs. Try going up in size and maybe try a different brand.

Pampers swaddles size 1 go up to 14 lbs. it's says so on the box.
 
My son was between newborn and 1 for awhile. We just had to deal until he got a little bigger. It was about a week of having issues. We tried pampers, Huggies and luvs.

Hmmm. What kind of diapers are you using? My LO is 11lbs 9.5 oz and in size 2 diapers. We tried huggies but he kept peeing out of them. Switched back to pampers swaddlers and no issues whatsoever. I'd think that the diapers should fit just fine. Is there a lot of space between the diaper and legs or back?
