Jack and Jill Baby Shower?

My husband and I are leaning toward throwing an informal, "Come and go as you please" baby shower at our home. Has anyone ever thrown one or been to one? I know they're trendy now, but I haven't been to one before and would be worried that men wouldn't want to come and unsure of what to plan for.

Any help would be very much appreciated :)

As long as you provide food and beer, they should come. We're doing this as well, a "babyq" and inviting about 130 people

I don't know that we called it this, but we had a family shower with my husband's family. It was very informal, no cheesy games, people just came and went as they pleased. Some sat inside when we opened gifts. Some sat out on the patio. People congregated where the food was. My husband and one his cousins even went to ride his 4-wheeler at one point. It was cool. I say have one!

I should add that no one has really stepped forward and offered to throw one for us, and since we feel awkward about hosting a formal one ourselves, we thought this might be more acceptable... Thoughts and opinions on that are also welcome :)
