I left my ex( we weren't married ever) four months ago after trying to leave him for over a year. He was abusive and we have a two year old daughter together. I'm currently pregnant(just found out) with my new boyfriends kid who helped me get away from abusive ex. Well I currently have a custody case going with my ex for our daughter. I'm fighting for sole custody since h doesn't care to have her and actually told me when I left him he never wanted to see her again but I made the dumb mistake and convinced him to be in her life since he lives with his mom and dad and they love her and I knew she'd be safe. Well so far our custody case is taking forever because he has had two chances to provided my lawyer with his assests for child support which he agreed to pay and he has ignored my lawyer and not sent anything back either time. I'm just wondering if my lawyer or my ex finds out I'm pregnant by my new boyfriend will it effect my child custody case at all? Will they take her away more or think I'm not responsible enough? I was always the one who took care of our daughter from the day she was born he never wanted to take care of her and left me to do everything for her from the day she was born. He also punched his hand through a door while I hid in a bedroom from him holding our daughter when she was 1 because he was mad I wanted to leave him. I'm just worried if the judge knows I'm pregnant they will give him joint custody or it will go bad on me. Any advice is helpful. I live in Illinois.
