Clomid questions!

So I was just diagnosed with PCOS and was prescribed 50 mg of clomid. My doctor told me I needed to have a period before I started taking it but my husband is about to leave for 3 weeks for work. When should I start taking the pill to start my period in order for me to start taking clomid and be ovulating when he gets back? He gets back feb 13
