Stocking up on diaper yet?

Hey August mamas! I saw this article and thought it would be helpful to other first time moms.

Wipes: ~5000
Newborn: 3 or less (depends on birth weight)
Size 1: 30 packs
Size 2: 15 packs
Size 3: 30 packs
Size 4: 45 packs
Size 5: 45 packs

Stock up with coupons when you can get them for 10¢ per diaper, 1¢ per wipe.

On the diapers what sizes of packs do you mean? The 18 count, 24 count, 34 count? Or even the Costoc ones with 100 count? I think the numbers of packs depends on how many diapers are in the pack to begin with.

I'm only 8 weeks. My friend has a 13 month old and when she found out she way pregnant she started couponing. You can only print 2 of the same coupons per IP address and the local library won't allow you too because you have to download a certain thing, kinda like java software. Anyways, she still hasn't ran out of diapers and we are now doing the same for myself. We attend a community college, so we have access to hundreds of computers. Coupons galore as long as you have the patience. Last week, rite Aid had a sale for diapers being 7.99..a $30 transaction and you get a $10 Catalina. Then $16 in plenti points. We bought 4 packs with 4 $2 off coupons. Next transaction was free. Buy 4 get 4. This week is pampers. Not free but less than 2.50 a pack. Krazycouponlady will tell you what you need amd what stores.

The size of diapers this chart is referring to are the "jumbo" soft packs which have about 20-40 diapers. The list that is posted above was pretty accurate for me except WAY less size 1 (only used 12 packs) & WAY more size 3 (used about 60 packs).

It all depends how fast your baby grows, but the size 1 & 2 ranges are only a couple of pounds, but the size 3 range is much larger. Either way start stocking up now when you find a good deal!

I don't stock up on diapers because it's so hard to predict what type and fit will work best. We got SO many pampers at our first shower, and then DS1 was highly allergic. We switched to huggies naturals and assumed DS2 would use the same. Well, he's a lot thinner and longer than DS1, so he fits better in Huggies little movers. If I'd bought ahead, now I'd be stuck with diapers I couldn't use and probably be out of the return period!

Thank you for this!!! I am 3 months and was planning on buying a box of diapers and pack of wipes every 2 weeks when I get paid until I deliver. I didn't want to get too many newborn size though, I wasn't sure how quickly (on average) they grow out of them. I'm thinking of not even buying newborn (maybe ONE pack) because I feel like that the only size I will get at my shower. We're having a diaper raffle... So I think most people will think to buy newborn.

I want to but I was going to leave that for ppl to get at the baby shower as a gift for a name drawing or something plus I haven't been able buy much because I'm waiting to move into a two bedroom place

Personally, the only thing I find accurate is the amount of wipes. You will need thousands of wipes. Don't buy too many newborn ones-maybe 2-3 packs.
