Would you stand up for someone you didn't know?
I met my husband, with our son, on his lunch break so I could demolish a footlong.
Anyways, waiting to order, and two people ahead of us a man gets louder and louder.."I want triple lettuce, triple tomatoes, and triple onions". The man behind the counter is telling him they have protocol for how to make the sandwiches and being calm even though this person is going OVERBOARD, then all of a sudden gets out if control and is humiliating this guy in public (the employee was of Indian decent). So, my husband turns to the man.. in front of another lady.. and tells him to quiet down and not to be so disrespectful..the guy is doing his job no need to be so rude. The loud guy yells back at my husband, telling him to mind his own business and goes back to berating the employee. That's when my husband said "don't speak to him like that, youre being an asshole, what gives you the right to speak to him like that?!" The guy quieted down, paid for his sandwich, and scurried out. The entire time, my husband was holding our 1 year old.
Meanwhile some people are looking at me and I don't know really what they are thinking...more so because I was abruptly interrupted when ordering my scrumptious footlong and still deciding if I wanted chips or not.
I thought later that even if they were judging me or my husband...I'd rather my son learn not to disrespect people wrongfully nor stand aside while someone gets bullied...even if he has to hear some yelling and 1 curseword.
