IUD and recurring UTIs?

I got the IUD Skyla about 5 months ago. At first, things seemed great.  But ever since I've become sexually active on a more regular basis (since November) I've had a UTI every month! I'd only had 1, maybe 2 prior in my life, but now I've had one every month for the past 3 months! Has anyone else had this issue?

I have the mirena and I like it and I hate it. I like it cause I don't have to worry about taking a pill or getting a shot. But I get my period almost 2 times a month every month and when I get cramps it's TERRIBLE. So I think it's up to you whether you think it's worth keeping it in or getting a different kind of birth control.

I'm a swimmer and lifeguard so I get UTIs on a REGULAR basis. What helps is 1. Cranberry juice or cranberry pills 2. Drinking a lot of water 
3. Go pee after you have sex
4. Use a gentle soap for your lady parts. Sometimes the soap kills the good bacteria in your vijayjay 
5. If you swim make sure you take off your bathing suit and rinse

I've had the mirena in for about 3 years and I honestly hate it . Pros for me were it helped with acne and attributed to my weight loss but I get recurring yeast infections or bv and my periods are very irregular sometimes getting them twice a month . Which is the total opposite of what it is supposed to do . It should regulate or even illimenate your period .

I've had my IUD for almost a year. I've never been one to get UTIs but I've had two since getting it. I also have terribly long periods!
