Cleaning your Menstrual Cup?

Does anyone know a good cleanser to use for the cup? I want to clean my cup before I use it for the first time. Or should I boil it in water to sanitize?

Boiling your cup will do the trick. Boiling breaks down any bacterial and human proteins that may be on your cup.

I bought my Diva Cup from Superstore and Diva Cup also has PH balance soap to clean it with.

I boil mine at the start and end of my cycle. Five minutes. Doesn't seem to distort or discolor it.

Cetaphil is actually recommended by many cup companies, as it is a gentle, mild, unscented, soap-free cleanser. You should be able to find this in your local drugstore, or online.

You should be boiling your cup before and after cycle. There are microwaveable cups you can use to make it easier to sanitize your cup. 
If you want to wash it in between cycles, I would use a very gentle and odorless soap.

I like to wash it with soap, then boil it, then soak it in a hydrogen peroxide solution overnight and then wash with soap again and boil again. :) the overnight soak really gets at any stains that may remain after boiling it the first time.

I wash it with Johnsons and Johnsons every time I'm in the shower with a really good rinse and I boil it at the end so it's ready to go for next month!

I know this might sound odd, but I soak mine in a whitening mouthwash for a few hours at the END of my period. The peroxide in it completely bleaches it and disenfects even the tiniest crevices. It looks new and the mint smell goes away long before you use it next.

Do boil it before the first time, but there are other ways to sanitize them. I wash them with soap (the one meant for vaginas) and water first and the swipe a cotton ball soaked in alcohol and let it dry really well. Before my next cycle I rinse it with water just in case. I have never had any problems.
