Apparently, without my knowledge, my water broke sometime around Christmas. I thought I had urinated on myself, and even had my husband smell, to which he confirmed, it smells like urine. Apparently my water broke at that time, but it didn't "gush" out. Instead, it trickled out over the next few weeks until I finally went into full blown labor Sunday night. I thought it was a UTI, because I was having some burning when I peed, (which can cause contractions), but an ultrasound revealed my water was almost gone, and the baby's heartbeat would go from 160 to 100 to 50 during my intense contractions. My labor progressed despite magnesium sulfate, and by 5AM Monday morning, my contractions were progressing to less than 2 minutes apart, and my cervix was dilating. I was rushed for an emergency c section (I had a myomectomy in May of 2015, so I knew I needed a c section or I could have a rupture), and Sebastion Zachary was born at 7:37AM, weighing 2lbs 15 oz, 15 inches long at just 28 weeks gestation. He is badly bruised from all of my contractions with no water, but he is doing well. He is off his ventilator, and receiving light therapy. He just had to see the world early!
