Long Hot Showers- safe or not?

I always take long hot showers every morning. I am about 8 weeks now and just read an article that says to avoid hot baths as it may cause birth defects. Is it the same with hot showers too? Anybody on the same boat with me here?

The issue with hot baths is that you raise your core temperature up too much. With a shower, you're not directly in the water, so you can regulate better. A good rule of thumb is not so hot that your skin becomes flushed or you become short of breath.

I've taken hot showers with all 4 pregnancies.  I won't drink wine, I have to limit my coffee and it's to cold and we have way too much snow for me to be able to go walking, so a nice hot shower is my way to relax.  If I start to feel too hot then I'll turn the water down.

I love to take long hot showers too. I just turn down the temp a little now to avoid raising my temp too much.

I dont know anything about birth defects, but I have read that later in pregnancy your body won't be able to withstand the heat the same as before and you are likely to faint in a hot shower. Be careful!
