My husband’s best friend is getting married nearly 1,300 miles away (20 hour drive), and my husband wants us both to make the trip as a “babymoon” vacation. I will be 31 weeks along the week we would travel. I have had no complications so far (I’m 25 weeks) and my doctor approved travel by both car and plane. I’d prefer car travel, due to the expense of flying, renting a car, etc., and my husband understands we would need to stop every 2-3 hours to pee and walk around to prevent swelling and blood clots. What concerns me is the town where the wedding is. Although my husband and myself will actually be vacationing in a large city for half of the trip, we'll be spending three or four days in the town where the wedding is. The only hotel in town is one of those small, roadside motels, and there are no restaurants (or anything for that matter) nearby. The closest town is over 20 miles away. My husband plans to go to the bachelor party in the large city nearly 3 hours away, and leave me at the motel. I don’t feel comfortable being left in the motel by myself, in an unfamiliar town, with no one I know nearby. If something were to happen, the nearest hospital is over 20 miles away, and they don’t have an OB/GYN facility, and my husband will be hours away. My husband says I am just being negative about the whole trip and fails to understand my concerns, feeling like I am asking him to choose between the bachelor party and me. I have no idea how to better make him understand my issues, as my only concern is the safety of our baby. Help!
