My husband and I are expecting our first baby this July. We are planning to wait until birth before we find out the gender but I know that he's really really hoping for a boy. Well before we even got pregnant (mind you we tried for quite a while!), we heard the name Brecken (still toying with the spelling) and decided right off the bat, that's what we'd name our first boy if we should have one... In the meantime while my huzzy and I continue trying, my younger sister gets pregnant (first month trying!) and she is due any day now. She and her husband also decided to wait until birth before finding out the baby's sex. We talked about names a few months ago and at that time for a boy they were leaning towards the name Lincoln. About a month later my sister called me and said that now they really like the name Beckham.... She asked how I felt about that since "our" boy name we like is Brecken and those names are pretty similar.

In all honesty I would prefer our kids didn't have almost the same name... Especially since we picked ours first but our baby is coming second. However, since neither of us know what we're having I feel selfish that I don't want her to use that name. My husband's reaction "it's not the SAME name..." So he seems fine with it. I just don't know. Some days I'm totally fine with it and some days it really bothers me.

I guess what I hope to hear is that it doesn't matter.... But I'm also secretly PRAYING she has a girl! Then we don't even have to worry about it :)

Opinions? I feel kind of weird even asking about this (like I said, some days I feel like it's a big deal, other days not) but I do think that having a place like glow that I can ask this question to total strangers will help me get past it. I love my sister dearly... We are super close so it's no wonder we have similar taste!
