I want to share my story about my endometriosis
If you think, know or assume you have endometriosis and have pain, and doctors tell you otherwise please keep pushing and don't give up!
My story started after I had my first born. I got the mirena iud and started having bad cramps so I made my doctor take it out. The pain cramps and a particular spot on my right side of what seemed to be my ovary/uterus hurt if pressed on or touched. I had bad constipation, painful ovulation, excusiating pain 4-5 days before period, short watery periods and always nauseous and tired. So they took me into surgery (doctor was rude) said they took my appendix out (wasn't even inflamed) and said I had hard feces in my colon and to see a G.I doctor. So I made a appointment with a G.I doctor had colons copy surgery set up but then found out I was pregnant again. So pregnancy went by I felt pretty good (endometriosis suppose to go away when pregnant) but I still had that dull ache pain in the little area I mentioned earlier. So I had my son 8 months later got on the implant called nexaplon in my arm (best birth control ever) no pain no periods no pregnancy but again same dull ache pain still. Well year went by and my husband and I decided we wanted to try for a third to have a little girl. Doctor said I should get pregnant within next two cycles. But nothing. Horrible periods for two months then my old ob doctor put me on the pill that caused me to bleed three months straight then had to put me on megace to stop me from bleeding. So I stopped the birth control cause obviously the goal was to regulate periods so I could ovulate and become pregnant. But that didn't work. I was in and out of er with normal blood test normal ct scan normal everything! I felt like I was crazy ! So couple months later (month 8) of trying I finally got the two line positive test! So over joyed and happy but come to find out four days later I started bleeding went to er and misscarried at 5 weeks pregnant. No answer to why I misscarried . I grieved but decided to try again. One cycle then two cycle bfn. I wanted to give up. I finally convinced myself to try a different doctor not just a obgyn a fertility/endo specialist at Cleveland clinic! I had my consultation and he scheduled laporscopic surgery for after my period which was in a week or so. I was in so much pain leading up to my period that I went to er (all my test were normal "shocker" ) they kept trying to drug me up with painkillers I refused. I wanted the pain resolved not covered up. They called my new doctor and he said to let me go home and call in morning to set up a day next week for surgery. Period came the next two days. And surgery was set up. Well everyone yesterday I had my surgery with my amazing doctor and low and behold they found endo on left side of uterus and behind uterus ! Besides the surgery pain I haven't felt any sharp pain or cramps. My period bleeding has stopped also from them taking scope and what not and cleaning out my tubes and uterus to make sure everything is all set to have a embryo implant once we start trying when I'm healed. Thank you for reading my long story but I just wanted to give someone hope to never ever give up getting answers and not getting misdiagnosed. I will hopefully update about my recovery.
