Childs grandparents aren't in the picture because they've never acknowledged your child. Not the day they were born, nor birthdays, nor Christmases. Nothing. They live 2 miles away. Never shown any interest in your child. Not even wanted to meet them. (Yes SO and I have attempted to create a relationship). How do you explain that to your child? They're someday bound to ask "what about my other grandparents?"
