How old should you be to wear a tampon?

I usually always wear pads but my swimming teacher recommended tampons to me so I could swim whenever I wanted, so anyway, for some weird reason me and my friend started talking about tampons and when I told her to I wore tampons she said it was disgusting and that girls my age shouldn't wear them, is it unhealthy or weird for a 13 year old to wear tampons?

Not at all! I got my period at 11 and was wearing tampons almost immediately, they're so much more comfortable once you learn how to put them in right :)

Nope tampons are for periods not certain age groups. I too was a swimmer and a diver in high school n tampons will allow u to continue throughout ur period

Absolutely not. Just make sure you don't keep them in too long. Be safe about it...read instructions and make sure you know what you're doing.

It's not weird at all, there's no reason to think so.  It has nothing to do with age, it's about ease of use and conscience.  She may just be scare to try them.  No big deal, a lot of girls are.

I have used tampons since the very first time I got my period. I was 14, so I think is not weird at all.
