Help. Contractions?

So I'm sitting here and I keep getting what seems menstrual cramps and a sharp pain down in the vagina. Tummy is hard. Could this be it? Feels like I'm going to start a period. I change positions and it keeps coming back. Help!! I'm 38 weeks 2 days

I'd time them to see how consistent they are. Also if they start to get worse to where you can't walk then your probably in labor. If drinking water, eating something, and moving positions doesn't help then I'd say you might be in labor

This just happened to me all day yesterday and some today. I called my ob and talked to a nurse. She said drink lots of water and try and relax. She said if it gets worse to call back. I read up on Braxton hicks and I feel better now. But if you feel in anyway you may be in labor don't hesitate to go. It's your body and you know it better than anybody.

Following I literally just posted asking about contractions. this is my 3rd baby but I never had contractions at home with the first 2.
