Teen Pregnancy
*this is my opinion*
I love this app for its health insights, and it's very helpful if I have questions that I can't comfortably go to my mom for answers.
But one thing I don't like, and that I find disgusting, is all the posts glorifying 12 year old mommy's.
Being the daughter of a teen mom, I have seen the struggles and sacrifices my mom had to make because she had me, and she's still struggling today because of it 17 years later.
My mom was lucky enough to have my grandparents help a little bit while she finished high school, (she was a sophomore when the had me ) but she had to put her aspirations on hold, and still hasn't finished college. She's still struggling from her student loans from barely any college, and can't even get a bank account right now because of money issues.
My mother has tried her absolute hardest to raise me right and make sure I don't make the same mistakes she did. I don't even see my dad.
And so when I see all this bs about girls getting to "make their own decisions", I want to vomit.
I will not judge you if you get pregnant, accidents happen. And if you keep and raise that child yourself, props to you.
But I WILL NOT sit here and congratulate you, I will not sit here and encourage it. At 16,17 , 18 I understand.
But 12 year olds should not even be sexually active to begin with. Most 12 year olds haven't even hit puberty yet. And I know damn well that a 12 year old isn't educated or mature enough to even have responsible sex yet.
Stop glorifying teen pregnancy. Having a child is a huge responsibility, they rely on you for survival as their parent. If you're not even able to support yourself on your own yet you shouldn't be having a kid. Especially if you're still a kid yourself.
