The day started out early at 5 am my water broke and I woke up to it gushing all over my bed. We left the house at 5:30 amd got to the hospital about 45 minutes later. They checked my cervix and his umbilical cord was coming out of my cervix, dilated to a four at this point, they had me go on hands and knees and wheeled me to the OR thankfully his cord went back to where it was supposed to be so they wheeled me back to my room and let me labor natural. I got dilated to a five and had to get the epidural because the contractions were not strong enough to dilate me enough so they started me on pitosin but it made babys heart rate drop and it wouldn't come back up so down to the OR once more for an emergency c section. I was put completely under and my boy was out within 9 minutes and was born at 5:39 pm. I only got to hold him for about half an hour because he is in the nicu on an iv for his blood sugar. I had gestational diabetes. They are saying that he has to stay in there for twenty four hours and his iv is too short to be able to hold him unfortunately. Tomorrow I will be able to go sit with him at least. I'm pumping and giving it to him as well as supplementing with some formula because not much is coming out yet. He is 7 pounds 11 oz 20.5 inches and beautiful! I keep sending my boyfriend in to check on him and to send me a picture every time he goes in there. His due date was 1/23/16 but he decided to come a few days early on 1/21/16. I have never been so terrified in my life like I was this morning thankfully this hospital knows what they are doing and they acted fast to save my precious boy!
