I had a pretty traumatic first experience with my son. I ended up needing a csection after over 40 hrs of induced labor, and then needed a blood transfusion. Just wanting to hear of amy other moms who had traumatic csecrions and then a successful vaginal birth!!

Yep. My first turned into an unnecessary emergency c-section. My next two births were wonderful and redeeming. I also changed medical providers. The first doctor was awful and obviously wanted the convenience of just quickly doing a c-section so he could go home for the day. I transfered to a hospital 45 minutes away for my next two and worked with the nurse - midwives there. So incredible; night and day difference in my care.

I've had three previous c sections and I'm pregnant now with number four. My labor with child #1 was 42 hours and ended in a very urgent c section. It's scary going in for another one if you've had such a bad experience before, but I can tell you, scheduled c sections are so much easier. My recovery was a lot easier since my body wasn't so worn out from labor. Emotionally, it was strange going in to the hospital, having no labor, and then having a baby handed to me. It was harder for me to bond with the baby than I expected with #2, but after a day of nursing, everything was back to normal.
