How do you sleep when on your period?

I have to sleep on my sides bc the blood while go down my ass if I sleep on my back, but I need suggestions, because during my period when I sleep on only my sides, it starts to hurt my hips/legs after a while.

I sleep however I don't have a problem with it running out until I stand up. I sleep with a pad on

I put some toilet paper between my butt at night and it catches any blood.

When I used to use disposables pads I would sleep on my side (IF I use pads I use reusable cloth pads).

I use menstrual cups now so I can sleep whichever way suits me. If you're curious about menstrual cups you should check 'em out.
