Andrew Frederick has arrived

Anna
Came in the Morning of 1/22 at 8:45. I didn't get started on my pitocin until about 11. I dilated to almost 5 without feeling much when they decided to break my water around 4:45pm. I ended up getting an epidural (which is one of the scariest things I've ever done lol), it took the edge off for a while. At 6cm I started to feel extreme pressure to have a bowel movement. It got worse and worse until I couldn't handle it anymore. They gave me more meds through my epidural and I could finally get some sleep. I started to feel a different kind of pressure at midnight. They checked me and I was 10cm and ready to go. I pushed for 4 hours with no progress. I started to run a pretty high fever and the baby's heart beat was spiking really high and I'm told I have a uterine infection. Then my doctor tells me that the baby is sunny side up. Little stinker, he's been in the correct position for months now and turns last minute. I ended up needing an emergency c-section at 4am. I slept through most of it from pure exhaustion. I had been up almost 24 hours by this point.
Andrew Frederick was born at 4:30am on the 23rd of January, weighing exactly 8lbs, 21.5in long. The top of his head was very come shaped from being in my pelvis for 4 hours. Lol. With everything that went wrong during my birth experience, I'm so greatful to not only have my little one here safely and healthy, but he is seriously a breast feeding champ. ONE thing that went right. He latched on so well and eats so well. I'm completely in love.
I may be a bit biased but he is so beautiful.
