12 weeks- am in out of the 1st trimester now?

I'm 12 weeks exactly now, and my app says that I am officially out of the 1st trimester! But I've always thought it was at 14 weeks that the second trimester began. Can anyone help clear this up for me? :)

I was just thinking about this last night!!! There's 40 weeks to a pregnancy which is 10 months and 10 does not divide by 3 so... I said screw trimesters.

Second trimester starts at 13 weeks.

This is what I've been going by. I am still announcing at 12 weeks since the risk of miscarriage drops significantly at that point, but according to this chart your second trimester starts at 14 weeks. No two websites seem to agree, though.

I thought the first trimester started at 13 weeks bc first is 1-12 second trimester is 13-24 I don't know?

I thought 2nd trimester started at 14 weeks (the first 2 weeks of 'pregnancy'  you are not pregnant yet...so 14 weeks is actually 12  weeks)...so confusing! Congrats!
