Atheism

I just want to clear some things up.
Noun: Lack of belief in the existence God or Gods.
It's not a religion.
It's not a belief system.
It's not a world view.
"I don't believe in atheism" is a non sensical statement.
The most common type of atheism (also called agnostic atheism): I do not believe in the existence of a God.
This does NOT mean: God does not exist.
No, these are not the same statements.
If I say "I don't believe in God", this means I am not convinced that a God exists. The burden of proof falls on the person who contends that God DOES exist.
If I say, "God does not exist", this means I am convinced that God does not exist. The burden of proof falls on the person who contends that God does NOT exist.
The questions of whether we have enough evidence to in fact disprove God's existence could be debated. However if someone says, I don't believe a God exists, it is non sensical to say,
"Prove he doesn't exist"!
Because then I can say, "prove there isn't a giant spaghetti monster somewhere in outer space!"
Do you see why this doesn't make sense?
