Best butt ointment that's safe for cloth diapers?

I heard normal rash creams can ruin cloth diapers. How do I know if one is safe? Should I look for something on the label?

I used coconut oil as well. It's nice to have around for lotion, cradle cap, diaper cream, sore nipples, etc. instead of buying a whole bunch of different products

Petroleum is what ruins the absorbency. You can put liners down (even paper towels) and use anything. I do that and also use Angel Baby Diaper Balm (it's expensive! But my baby is 3 months old and we haven't gone through a whole tub yet).

I honestly have used desitin with our cloth. Sometimes it does stay on the diaper through a couple washes but I don't mind. My daughter has gotten worse rashes from "natural" and cloth diaper safe butt creams and coconut oil. If she has a really bad rash though I put her in a sposie and cake the cream on. If her butt is just a little red I use baby powder to keep things dry and smooth.

I never really needed any in cloth diapers honestly.  But whenever my son would need a little I'd use Angel Baby Balm. It's made for cloth diapers and is virtually a natural product.
