My little guy has arrived!

Michelle
On Monday January 18 (37w 3D) (my husband and i's 2nd anniversary) I had a doctors appointment. I have had (controlled) chronic hypertension throughout my pregnancy but have been on a small dosage of medication to control it.. Which worked perfectly throughout my pregnancy. I had my routine weekly ultrasound (BPP) and meeting with nurse/Doctor. At my nurse appointment she asked me if I were ready to have the baby... I replied "oh yes, beyond ready" and she said "good because we're inducing you tonight" 😨😨what? The reason being is that they didn't want to risk my BP getting crazy and things going down hill. Still no signs of pre E.  So we waited all night for a call from the hospital to come in. Around 440am on 1/19 we were called. We headed to the hospital. They put a medication called cervidil behind my cervix to help soften it. Was supposed to be there for 12 hours and then start pitosin for contractions. Well my doctor came in and checked me and said that I didn't need it (an hour after they administered it) and we were going to start pitosin in an hour. I got my epidural around 1030, she came in and broke my water around 1130/12. I was 4 cm at this point. My nurse advised about an HR per cm (my husband and I were guessing birth time). Around 2, they called the nurse in my room telling her to check me. When she did, her eyes got big and said- umm were having a baby. Like now. So 8 pushes later, he's here. Perfectly healthy. 6 lb 15 oz 19 inches. This is my first baby, and honestly, I could have never expected it to go SO smoothly. Epidural is what's up.
