Is it recommended per pregnancy? Or if I got it with my first child 6 years ago am I good?

It is recommended every ten years for most people. It is also recommended each pregnancy for pregnant women. This is because if you get it, the baby will get some antibodies to pertussis, which will offer some protection until the baby is old enough to be vaccinated at two months.

I had one last year right before my daughter was born, it was recommended I have it again this spring before my twins are born.  My family was told if they've had it in the past 10 years, they're fine.  I think it has to do with passing the vaccine effects to the baby itself, and less for the mom to benefit from them being so close together (as is my case)
