Why am I being called a child?

Lily-Anne
I am 16, and in everyone's eyes I am still a 'child.'
I can understand why I would be classed as that, as legally I am not an adult yet, but here's the thing.
In England (where I live) I can get married at 16.
At school I am now in sixth form (equivalent of college) and am being pushed into working full-time, to chose university's, and to start driving.
We are now having to worry about finances and buying our own flats, and what we can responsibly spend our money on.
I no longer have time for social activities, and I'm 16.
Is that what a child does?
Do children worry about these things?
The only thing that makes me a 'child' is my age, but my mindset is not that of a child's, I can be more mature than some 'adults'.
Being over the age of 18 does not make you a respectable adult, and being under 18 does not make you an immature child.
So why am I being forced to be an adult and then called a child?
Logic?
