Any ladies use laughing gas for labor?

Apparently it's not offered everywhere, but more commonly in Europe... Using nitrous oxide during labor. Any ladies here have any experience using this during labor? I'm interested in it as an option for very slight pain relief/distraction.

I live in Seattle, and it's offered at the birthing center in delivering at. I will use it if I need it! So dumb that the U.S. cares more about making money off of epidurals than keeping things most safe for mom and baby.

Did with both mine, doesnt help a whole lot but takes the edge of a bit. I think biting it helps more than actually breathing it in but i think its a nice nearly natural labour option as you have total control of the amount you take in :)

I tried it but only during the pushing stage. I hated having the thing over my mouth and felt like I couldn't breathe. I get claustrophobic with blankets and stuff over my face though, so that might be why. Just something to consider.  I would try it and if you don't like it than ask them to turn it off.

I live in Europe and everyone I've talked to here says to use it - whether you use any thing else or not! I plan to do it as there is no harm to the baby and laughing gas is pretty great.

I work in the dental field and it is highly advised and recommended to NOT using nitrous oxide while pregnant. We do not let our patients use it if we know they are pregnant as it ia unsafe for baby. That being said, I'm not sure how different it is using it during active labor.

Wtf? Why is it not the norm if it's healthier for mom and baby? Smh

Yes it's fab highly recommend I used it in labour with my 2 prevouse daughters that's all the pain relief i needed :-)
