Difference between Cramps, Braxton Hicks and Contractions?

Since last night, I've been feeling these short mild electrical-like pains in the upper and lower abdomen areas. Like under and on top of the baby's area. I'm 20weeks and wondering what they are and if it's normal or not. Could they been cramps, braxton hicks or contractions? I've had the streching round-ligament pains before so I don't think that's it this time.

Cramps, to me, feel like period cramps. Braxton-Hicks are a contraction (hardening of your belly) that sometimes can be painful because of the pressure. Contractions are hardening of the belly that dilate the cervix.

It sounds like you're experiencing a growing belly. Round ligament pain can feel different at different times. This might just be muscles stretching.

Cramps: period like pain aching feeling
Braxton Hicks: tightening of uterus, usually you feel your bell get hard but it's not extremely painful
Real contractions: tightening of uterus and hurts like nothing you've ever felt
Growing pains: sharp pains, twinges etc.

Drink a tall glass of water and change your position. If they go away, they're Braxton hicks. If not, call your doctor.
