Coconut oil for pregnancy acne?

Hi all,

I'm 10 weeks + a few days and my acne has EXPLODED in the last month or so. I have always had hormonal acne that flares up around my period, but was able to sometimes achieve windows of clearer skin with Skinceuticals products and some prescription Adapalene gel. However, I discontinued the Adapalene when we started trying to get pregnant, and now my skin looks as bad as it did in my teens. :(

I'm wondering if anyone has had success treating adult acne (while preggers or not) with coconut oil. I've seen some mixed reviews online but was hoping for some input from other mamas! Thanks in advance.

I use coconut oil for just about everything. It's not an overnight miracle by any means, your skin will have to adapt to the oil at first, but it has worked for me for acne and my growing belly. I started getting a couple stretch marks recently from slacking, put coconut oil on and most were gone after a few days use. Same with my acne, it cleared up fairly quick after I used coconut oil. I keep a squeeze bottle in the shower now. Just be sure you're using pure and natural, not the chemical filled. The natural will be a solid but should turn liquid if you hold it under the warm shower water for a little bit. Good luck!

Coconut oil can break many people out, I'm very acne prone (been on Accutane twice) so I use pumpkin seed oil because it doesn't break me out. I use unrefined virgin coconut oil only on my body. 
Also, you can get prescription Finacea cream from the dermatologist which is safe to use during pregnancy.
