What's the difference between a bouncer and a swing?

FTM here so please excuse this noob question but what exactly is the difference between a bouncer versus a swing versus a rock n play?? Which is necessary and which is a nice to have?

They are both nice to have because it depends on the baby and what the baby likes may shift as he grows.

It depends on the baby. "Bouncers" more vibrate than anything and a swing swings. Some babies prefer one to the other while some babies will do either. I think a swing is a safer bet but a bouncer tends to take up less space

The other ladies covered the difference between them, but my advice is to borrow the high dollar items if you can.  My oldest loved his swing, hated the bouncer...my daughter couldn't care less what she was in, she loved everything...my youngest was an asshole and wasn't happy unless he was being held...in my arms, not a baby carrier or snugly...my arms.  Sigh.  You don't want to waste money on these bulky items, cuz they are all pretty bulky, if your baby hates it.  If you find one (or all) that your baby loves (or tolerates well), then spend the money.  Good luck mama!

It depends on baby. My son loved his bouncer. No go on the swing. I recommend trying to find friends with ones u can "test" to see what baby enjoys more

I found a swing at babies r us that also had a vibrate function in case one or the other is preferred!
