Too scared to start the nursery...am I alone in this?

I love looking at all the pictures of pretty nurseries on here but I'm too scared to start ours!

I'm worried if we did it up then something went wrong I wouldn't be able to face going into the room. I'm 20 weeks and worried if I don't stop worrying I'll end up leaving it too late. Is anyone else putting off starting or am I just being really paranoid???

I honestly didn't want to do anything to the room until after he was born. Mostly because I didn't know if he was he or she and because I was still saving.

At 37 weeks the nesting started and I attacked every room in the house lol I sent my dad out with money for paint and he came back with a cot and everything to go with it, bouncy chair and pram plus the paint to match the bedding ❤ 
He let me do the walls and we built the cot together & that's when it all got real

You can start buying what you're going to need, but you don't need to do the baby's room just yet

There is no right or wrong time to begin the nursery. You do it when you feel ready. If that's not until baby is born then that's when it will be. Most of my family including my mom and sister believe in not having anything for the baby until after she's born. Myself and my husband don't believe in that we started around 24 weeks and slowly did things. Started with paint and slowly added furniture. Now I'm 33 weeks and my rocker will arrive tomorrow and I'll start finishing decor. Do it when your ready.

We aren’t buying anything until the very end- apart from the car seat- we will just get everything deliver via next day delivery to Waitrose- I can’t face having anything until he/she is here- we have a Moses basket on standby to borrow from a friend and we are picking up some simple clothes from a secondhand shop for the first trip home- but I cannot invest in this baby until it is here and alive- I do not feel excited but terrified due to 3 close friends late term losses I can convinced the same will happen to me and so I don’t see the point in getting anything- although I think I may see the Dr as I don’t think this is a normal reaction- seen as most people on here have enough clothes etc for 10 babies months before they arrive- even adorning the walls with their names- I definitely could not do that!!!

Your not alone. My sister lost my niece at full term and it took her months to go back into her nursery. We ended up looking the door to keep her out. So I'm very nervous about buying things and setting them up as well.
