When to tell?!

Hello ladies :) I am in need of some advice. My husband and I are trying to decide when to tell our parents and friends and family that we are expecting baby #1. It will be the first grandchild on both sides and my husband is an only child. We want to tell our parents at least a few weeks before we publicly announce it (to make them feel more important).  I'm only 4+1 now and both sets of parents live across the country. Ideas??

We told our parents just about right away when we found out. We were too excited not to tell somebody. We live a few states away also. So we called and got one of each of our siblings to buy a big chocolate heart and a box to put it in with a note that said "Your first grandchild's heart starts beating this week." We skype called them and had them give them the box so we could record their reaction.
It is still hard holding it back from everyone else, but we will probably tell the rest of our family in another month.

I wanted to wait but I seriously can't lol. It's baby #2 for me and I'm 5 weeks. We are telling parents and my sisters this weekend and everyone else we will probably wait until 10-12 weeks

We are telling our families after our first ultrasound which I'll be 8 weeks by then!

I want to tell my parents right away but my husband is making me wait until our first doctor appointment at 8 weeks. He's still in denial and overly cautious too. Total negative nancy but I got my first BFP at 10dpo (image below) and planning to take another test tomorrow or Monday  13-14dpo to be certain.

We'rd 4w+2 and told our parents straight away - and a couple of close friends, as I was having some pretty obvious symptoms and figured they would realize sooner or later anyway, but we're waiting until our 12 week mark to make it public - we have our first ultrasound with the midwife at around 10 weeks.
