Am I being selfish?

Question

We are TTC and we talked about baby names. My SO said I can name the baby girl whatever I wanted, but he wants our baby boy to be named after him and his father. He's a junior, so my baby boy will be Bradley III. Now I know Brad is a good name, but I wanted our children to have their own unique names 😑 I don't want to argue about this. His dad has been asking us for years when we will get started on Bradley III...I would never want to disrespect him, but I'm not into the same name thing either 😖 What should I do???

You just asked this a few minutes ago. .and most voted towards Bradley III. 
I'm assuming ur not happy with most of our votes.  Truth be told,  you are obviously against it. So why bother asking..
Communication is the most important thing in a relationship. Talk to your SO, convince him to change his mind.
Or learn to love his choice.  After all,  he told u u can name if it's a girl. 
Ps- we have the same deal.  My SO gets to name if it's a boy,  I get to name if it's a gitl.
That also eliminates the" I can't belive u want to name our daughter after the slut u dated before me" and the " I can't believe u want to name our son after that asshole  u slept with in high school" arguments. It's a good solution... 
Communicate your concerns  (better) to your SO. if he doesn't budge, learn to love the name.  It's a great name after all. ..
At least he didn't come to u saying he wants he's son to be named some weird, can't spell,  can't pronounce name

Talk to him and maybe come to a compromise like having your own unique name but using it as a middle name? Then when the child is older maybe he can decide for himself as some people decide to use there middle name instead of their first

Talk to him about it, make a compromise you can both agree on. My SO is a junior. I told him far before we even started TTC that I will not make my child a 3rd lol plus his name is Richard, he's been called Ricky from the day he born. So, he might as well just have been named Ricky. My grandfather is a junior and he's literally only been called junior. Even after his father passed he could not get anyone who has known him his entire life to call him by his actual name. He can't stand it lol I will give my child their own name. We decided that we would honor family names that are important to us for middle names.

I think it's open for discussion,especially if you don't want to do it.Maybe a compromise like his middle name can be Brad?
